Daimon Focus 2262 Sp

This is a german Daimon Focus 2262 Sp, made by the "Daimon-Werke" factory, around 1930. In this brown color was used by the Hitlerjugend. That version has made with nickel plated parts, adjustable focus, and morse button. Nice, big 60 mm lens, and belt clip on the backside. The factory catalog was promised 18 workhour with one battery pack!

It's a nice piece, in very good condition. Rare in this brown color.

The "laughing duck" on the back side is the belt hanger, and with the small leather strap you could wear it on the buttons of the uniform. 
But that wasn't a typical wearing mode, because with the batteries the lamp weight almost half kilogram, 493.7 gram. That wasn't an easy wearable item. Maybe on the trouser strap, that was the better choice.

Soviet flashlight from the WW2, for the Red Army. Without any name or signing. Why would they use a brand name in the soviet type socialism?.. That was totally irrelevant in the USSR at this time. The switch and the filter buttons are very similar to the polish Elektrodyn, and the opening mechanism came from the german Zeiler 4848. It's had big nickel plated buttons. Big, but difficult to use with single hand. It's very tight, hard to rotate.  One rivet is missing. I think that's not a losted rivet, that's never was here. Why are the most cool and interesting things usually the rarest and hardest to find? You can collect flashlights for decades, and may you can't get this. Around a few thousand pieces made of that, but by now a few hundred, or less could remain. The first version of the 646 was made around 1934.The piece that I presented here now is a later, but not the latest version. The 646 was the Pertrix brand's most expensive product. All of the parts are non-magnetic, made of copper. Copper was an expensive material in this period, the military industry used a lot of it.   All parts of the flashligh are non-magnetic, because it's had a compass on the top. With iron parts, the compass would not work properly. It’s an unique function among the WW2 german flashlights, as the copper outer casing. Daimon Telko-Trio Focus with the original bulb.. The "Telko" serial was made in many-many variations, this is the last generation of the focusable version. The switch with morse function on the top, and the focus slider on the side. Made with  red, green filters. The slidable shield on the button is a safety function against the accidental switching. I love these little details! The focus slider button moves the little arm, which move back and forth the reflector. This focus the light beam. In a 1935's catalog. The left on the bottom.
